Missing you seems
To be an infinite loop
I can never forget the
Way you made me feel.
The delight, the grief,
And the in-between.
You left an imprint
On my heart,
Unerasable by
The passage of time.
Maybe we were a
Mistake, but it was
The most beautiful
Mistake I ever made.
Pretty soon,
There will be
Nothing left
To save.
The only witnesses
To my pain are my
Tear soaked pillow
And silent walls.
You pretend like you don’t know,
And you act like nothing’s wrong,
And I do the same.
An ocean of unspoken words
Lies between us, and so we
Make strained small talk.
On our minds are words we don’t
Dare speak, and issues too gigantic
To wrap our minds around.
And that was the moment
I realized that my anxiety
Was a false fire alarm
Going off in my head.
It was pitch black darkness,
Month after month,
Until I was worn out.
Then your light showed up,
Making me smile wide,
And laugh until I tear up.
You stay by my side
Through the turmoils,
To bring me comfort.
I don’t believe in signs,
But everything points to you
Being the light I asked for.
You were watching
A vase about to fall
And break any second,
The vase being me.
Now I understand,
It was fear in your eyes,
Not discomfort.
I deleted all the songs
That serve as a reminder
Of you and what we were.
Half my playlist is gone,
It’s time to finally move on.
I won’t let this hold me back.
